Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of ReDSS Ethiopia Learning strategy, aligned to the ReDSS Shared Agenda and Ethiopia workplans
- Operationalize and monitor ReDSS Ethiopia learning framework and indicators and manage ReDSS learning systems to create, share and apply knowledge to achieve ReDSS objectives
- Compile and synthesize information, manage the production and dissemination of a diverse range of information products, internal and external technical briefs
- Develop case studies on lessons learnt, sectorial/thematic issues and manage the development of learning tools and online tutorials
- Manage and update learning templates, dissemination and uptake plans, SOPs and calendars of events and trainings
- Design, coordinate, and support the dissemination of high-quality, relevant research products that inform policy and programming on displacement and durable solutions in Ethiopia.
- Manage ReDSS Ethiopia reporting framework with monthly, quarterly and annual reports and related products shared internally and externally
- Support ReDSS Ethiopia Country Manager in the implementation of ReDSS research strategy, ensuring alignment and complementarity with the learning strategy
- Track and analyze key legislative and policy developments related to displacement and durable solutions, providing timely updates and practical recommendations to ReDSS members and partners.
- In coordination with the ReDSS Ethiopia Country Manager, prepare evidence-based policy briefs, position papers, and other policy products aligned with key policy priorities, ensuring outputs are informed by learning, research, and stakeholder consultations.
- Coordinate with ReDSS regional solutions coordinator to support regional research initiatives, ensuring relevance to the Ethiopia context and cross-learning with other contexts in the region.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Addis Ababa City Administration authorities, research institutions, and other key government and non-government stakeholders. Prioritize engagement with refugees, IDPs, host communities, and Refugee-Led Organizations (RLOs) to ensure their perspectives and needs are meaningfully reflected in research, programming, and policy processes.
Education:
- University degree in a relevant field in social sciences fields, including in development studies, political science, international relations, law, and the like will be considered.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar positions (including experience in senior leadership positions) involving information management, learning, or policy roles, requiring analysis and presentation of complex information in a simple and accessible manner
- Extensive experience in working with governmental structures, and an expert within the context of displacement-related issues and the humanitarian / development nexus in Ethiopia
- Experienced in data and information retrieval and management – including its organization for ease of access to a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong reporting and writing skills with proven experience in producing high quality report and communication materials
- Strong analytical and writing skills with proven experience in producing high quality external policy and communication materials and ability to handle complex issues
- Solid experience in capacity development of a wide range of actors including adult learning, mentoring and coaching, training of trainers and impact monitoring of capacity development activities
- Excellent coordination, information management, inter-personal and facilitation and communication skills to build trusted relationships with a wide array of humanitarian and development partners, donors, Government agencies, etc.
- Demonstrated adaptability and initiative in dynamic, evolving contexts, with the ability to stay focused and solution-oriented amid complexity and change
Languages:
- Fluent in spoken and written English
