Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Translate project documents, reports, training materials, and communications from English to local language and vice versa.
  • Provide real-time interpretation during workshops, training sessions, meetings, and field visits.
  • Support the preparation of bilingual materials for project events and stakeholder engagement.
  • Assist in the evaluation of small forest and farm business plans using project-defined criteria.
  • Document and organize translated materials and evaluation results.
  • Carry out additional tasks as requested by the project team.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a Master’s or PhD program in Languages, Business Management, Business Administration, Communication, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in English and at least one local language, either Afaan Oromoo or Sidaamu Afoo (written and spoken).
  • Demonstrated experience or academic coursework in translation and interpretation is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with business planning concepts and development sector terminology is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural team environment.
